10 DAYS OF AWE - Sept. 6-16th, 2021

Dear Friends and Family,

At Harvest House of Prayer, we are gearing up to host an extended time of prayer. While we know we are no longer under the law of Moses, we do believe God has ordained special seasons and occasions which still apply today—and we are about to enter a powerful time!

The days of September 6th -16th are known as the Days of Awe in the Jewish Calendar. It is a time where God’s people sacrifice lesser things to draw closer to the heart of the Father. We want to extend the invitation to our local community to join us for this special time.

This year we are actually bringing two wide-scale prayer initiatives (10 Days and Tent America) together into one event.

Global (Ten Days)

10 Days is an annual prayer initiative that is rapidly growing worldwide. It is an attempt to create a “Global Upper Room” causing entire cities to turn to God and to experience revival. Last year, over 150 locations on six continents took part in this event. This movement, at its core, is rooted in the 10 “Days of Awe” between the biblical Feasts of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. These feasts prophetically foreshadow the second coming. Therefore, 10 Days is also a time of longing for the return of Jesus Christ.

National (Tent America)

Tent America is a nationwide 100 day event that runs from June 12 – Sept. 20, 2021. Hundreds of tents have already been set up in cities across America where they have hosted many hours of continuous prayer, worship, and proclaiming the gospel. The worship leaders/teams are from a variety of churches and denominations joining together in unity to bring the presence of God in the midst of our communities.

Local (how it will look at Take the City)

  • Inspired by the 10 days leadership team, we are offering “The Promise Map” prayer strategy. We have a map of the Chattahoochee Valley, where churches and individuals can write down promises (words, Bible verses, songs) they are hearing for our city on sticky notes and leave them on the map and pray over them throughout the 10 days.

Our 10 Day Schedule:

  • Monday September 6th – Thursday September 9th: our prayer room will be open to the public 7am-8pm
  • ** key times of live worship from 12-2pm**
  •
  • Friday September 10th at 4pm, the prayer room will operate outdoors under a tent for 50 consecutive hours of worship, prayer, and gospel proclamation. This will go non-stop until 6pm on Sunday September 12th.
  •
  • Monday September 13th – Thursday September 16th, we will resume back in the prayer room. We will wrap up the whole event in a grand finale of praise and worship on the final night of September 16th, during our very own  Harvest Night! You won’t want to miss this, so make sure you mark your calendar!
  •
  • Also, we strongly encourage all who are participating to take the Consecration Challenge, which entails the following:

    • 1.) Fast food at some level (Daniel fast, juice fast, water fast, be led by Holy Spirit) for the 10 Days.
    • 2.) Fast from social media and entertainment during the 10 Days.
    • 3.) Take some time off from work to seek the Lord, pray, worship & fellowship with other believers for the 10 Days.
  •
  • We anticipate these 10 days to be an unprecedented season in which the body of Christ will be united like never before, where we will see many prayers answered, and ultimately see the healing of our land (2 Chron. 7:14).

Donna

My first encounter with Take the City was going to Wilson Apartments in Columbus GA. We were met by a man from that neighborhood who prayed with us before we began the outreach. We set up an area for the kids to play and others went door to door witnessing and praying for people. It truly was a humbling experience. Another time I got to pray at an abortion clinic which was another humbling experience. The worship services the night before are always dynamic and spirit led. However I will conclude with the best part for me was being an eight week participant of Take the City boot camp. All of the leaders were simply AWESOME and I learned so much during those eight weeks. I thank God for all these wonderful opportunities!
