Revival on the River 2018 Recap by Ian Allen

May 7, 2018

Wow! We just finished our 5th annual Revival on the River. Which I believe was a celebration of the fruit of what we longed and prayed for since the beginning. Looking back at the past.. The first one took place only months after I met Andrew Chalmers. He had an idea for a community wide event that would bring not only cities together but different churches, and races, and ages of people. He and I had such similar hearts and visions to bring Unity to the body of Christ and it was refreshing to link arms and partner with his vision for this event. I still remember the first one like it was yesterday. There was so much joy and energy. No preconceived intentions. We really had no idea what to expect. To put it simply, God blew us away. It was so refreshing to see a movement birthed that was so much bigger than just an event. We could all notice God stirring people’s hearts to hunger for more of God’s peace and presence. Our first event truly was an attempt to stir something up in our city, in our churches and in our hearts. Thus, we realized we needed to do it again next year. God continues to work miracles. Over the years God has continued to move in incredible ways in our city since our first Revival on the River. While logistically, it has looked different every year. We have had different elements, different volunteers, different musicians and worship teams. But the consistency was in His presence. Each and every year there has been challenges in...

There will be fun for the whole family, FREE FOOD, positive music and messages. Come and join us to celebrate unity, life and community! Everyone is welcome! Gates open at 6PM EST! click here to find us on facebook!! What’s the story behind the beginning of ROTR? In 2014 we hosted a night of free food from Chick-Fil-A, local christian music and family fun! We celebrated the unity that we have among the Tri-city area by enjoying a night of music, fellowship, food and encouraging messages. We were honored to have both Mayor Tomlinson and Mayor Lowe and several other key leaders speaking on the subject of unity. We also had music groups from local churches that played that night a wide variety of contemporary christian, gospel music and hymns! Which venue will RORT be at? The Phenix City Amphitheater is where this year’s Revival on the River we be located. Tampa Testimony by Mariel Villarreal – Great American Cookies Treasure Hunt

March 19, 2018

This month, we held a Take the City conference in Tampa, Florida with the goal of gathering the body of Christ in the city and surrounding areas to receive equipping to do outreach and then to go out into the city to use the tools we learned to evangelize. An anticipation filled the room as we shared testimonies of salvations, healings, and miracles God has done on past outreaches when we simply reached out to those around us with the love and power of the Gospel. What is a Treasure Hunt? Before outreach, my team gathered to prepare for a “Treasure Hunt” , a type of evangelism where we pray and ask God to give us specific clues about where we should go, what we should do, and who we should meet. We would take note of the clues we received during prayer. While those clues would become the treasure map that would lead us to the people we share the Gospel with—our treasures. It’s a fun way to partner with the Holy Spirit and rely on His leading to impact people and situations that are on His heart. Your Clues will Determine Your Treasure Map. As we prayed, someone spoke up and said, “I feel like God wants us to go to the mall food court!” After another moment, I felt like the Lord was showing me a picture of a cookie store at the mall. With two clues for our treasure hunt in hand, we decided—let’s go to the mall and see what Jesus wants to do! Your Treasure Map will Determine Your Destiny. When we arrived...

Brittany

I have been serving in some way with Take the city since October 2013. I spent a lot of time on the prayer team in the beginning and encountered God’s heart for the city in a life changing way. When the teams came back and shared testimonies, it was always fun to see that our prayers coincided with some of their testimonies in special ways. More recently I have had the privilege of leading a team to a nursing home where I used to be an employee. I used to pray over the facility every day, and it was such a miracle to see an old friend who lives there give his life to Jesus on one of our outreaches a year later. God sure has a way of answering prayers. And Take the City is an answer to so many prayers that have gone up here.
