Woman Trafficked in 43 States Finds Freedom

May 9, 2019

Redeem hosted a W.A.R weekend where we rented out motel rooms and had teams participating in constant prayer, worship and outreach. The last night, we went around knocking on doors inviting the community to free food and a chance to hear the gospel. Our team encountered a young woman and and older gentleman. She was clearly under the influence of drugs and our team had every reason to believe she was being trafficked. We brought her a blanket a church had donated and we began to minister to her in her room as Jonathan was ministering to the older gentleman down by the cookout.  As the team explained the hotline card to her, she blurted out “ Well, you know I’m a prostitute right, I choose to do this to support my addiction.” She wanted to convince us this was her “choice”, yet our team knew there was something deeper. My first encounter with Take the City was going to Wilson Apartments in Columbus GA. We were met by a man from that neighborhood who prayed with us before we began the outreach. We set up an area for the kids to play and others went door to door witnessing and praying for people. It truly was a humbling experience. Another time I got to pray at an abortion clinic which was another humbling experience. The worship services the night before are always dynamic and spirit led. However I will conclude with the best part for me was being an eight week participant of Take the City boot camp. All of the leaders were simply AWESOME and I learned so much during those eight weeks. I thank God for all these wonderful opportunities!
