Thankful for our Newest LifeHouse Ministry Partners.

February 28, 2020

We’re pleased to announce our newest Lifehouse ministry partners with the Bedsole family in East Highlands, The Verge Church. Pastor Chuck and his church family have agreed to participate in a monthly community outreach to walk through the community picking up trash, meeting the neighbors, praying with them and asking how they can further minister to their neighbors. This past Saturday, they picked up 13 bags of trash and visited with several new families. The plan is to continue these monthly outreaches walking through the neighborhood, picking up trash, meeting the neighbors, sharing God’s love and asking how we can be their neighbors. Steve Bedsole has been meeting his neighbors over the past year and asking how he can pray with and minister to them. Steve has been reading the Bible with Donnie, one of his neighbors 1-2 times per week and offering to take him grocery shopping at the local Piggly Wiggly.  Last week Donnie asked if he could go to church with them. Donnie came to the office on Monday to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at our new coffee house and visit our house of prayer mid day. I enjoyed meeting Donnie and appreciated his enthusiasm for his friendship with Steve, a good cup of hot chocolate, and a mid-day pause for prayer and worship.  Steve and Kristen have recently celebrated their move to Columbus, GA from Portland, Oregon with their 3 children. Steve is the Director of our Reach-Atlanta-Metro campaign to launch 18 community outreaches in the Atlanta Metro during the next 3 years. Kristen is a full time homemaker and is homeschooling their children. The...

Local Outreach – From Needing Ministry to Ministering

On Saturday morning February 22nd, many believers gathered from all over Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. After we prayed together and received training, our teams split up and went to the East Wynnton area, the Elizabeth Cante apartments, and the East Highland community. One more team meant to walk around the neighborhoods around Take the City but the Lord had other plans. Andrew Chalmers and his team gathered things together to pass out i.e. cookies, Harvest Coffee cards, and Gospels of John. They intended to walk around 2nd and 3rd avenue, pass out cookies and invite people to the coffee shop and prayer room. While they were getting ready though, a rush of people came into Harvest Coffee to purchase coffee and ice cream, and Andrew stepped in to help. Andrew’s team began to minister to people as they came in. One woman came running into the building. Out of breath and in tears, she explained that her boyfriend started getting angry and began to fight her. She ran out and came to Take the City because she didn’t know what else to do. Our team circled around her and began to pray for her and the situation. She calmed down, and one of the guys was able to walk back with her to her house and get the situation sorted out. Later, the woman returned to the building, smiling. She was grateful for the ministry she had received. As she left the building once more, she chased a woman down in the parking lot to pray for her. The woman went from receiving ministry to being able...

Spotlight! – Cindy with Beautifully Made

We want to introduce everyone to CINDY! Cindy and Jessica celebrating what God has done! We met Cindy 3 years ago when she was desperate and ready to change her life. She came into our safehouse and we have been friends ever since. The past few years, Cindy has gone through many trials yet she knew God never stopped pursuing her. She knew she had a calling on her life to preach the gospel and to help other women. Recently, she came into our prayer room at Take the City and gave everything in her past to the Lord. As she let go and let God, she received supernatural breakthrough! A little while later, we were able to help her find a home for rent and provide her an opportunity of employment. She now works with us in our social enterprise, Beautifully Made! Many people would not give her a chance because of her past but we KNEW God had great things for her. We KNEW that she would be used in powerful ways through our business that empowers and blesses other women. She is now thriving in her destiny, making amazing beauty products, and blessing ALL of us who work with her by her authentic love and gratitude for...

Local Outreach – Answered Prayer

February 1, 2020

Saturday January 18, we split up into teams and went to different neighborhoods to preach the Gospel and share Christ’s love. Over the past few months, one of our outreach leaders, Dasi, has felt led to take a team and go to her own neighborhood in the Staffordshire subdivision and share the Gospel. When she went this past time, God answered a woman’s prayer. Dasi and a new friend ventured to her neighborhood. After they parked at her house, they prayed and asked the Lord where they should go. They began walking and simultaneously were drawn to a house nearby. Dasi and her friend knocked on the door and what happened next was God and God alone. The woman yelled, “Come in!” To her surprise, Dasi found the door to be unlocked and slowly opened it. They walked down the center hallway and found the woman in the kitchen. The woman had been praying all night and had asked God to give her a sign that He was there and cared about her. Dasi and her friend introduced themselves and explained that they were there to pray for her. The woman grasped Dasi’s friend’s hand and responded through tears, “I know Jesus loves me, because God sent you both here to me today.” The three women sat and exchanged stories. The Lord’s power began to fill the room as they prayed for each other. The women connected and let go; they wept together and rejoiced as the Lord moved in their hearts. The Lord ministered to each woman with specific words of encouragement, and for the lady of the...

Bradley Circle Community Christmas Party

January 31, 2020

How do you and your family like to celebrate the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ? Meals, Christmas carols, presents, and a sharing of the story of the coming of the Christ child? Andrew and Ellen Chalmers, our Lifehouse missionaries, along with Pastor Chuck Hasty and their Grace Presbyterian church community partners put on an old fashioned Christmas celebration to be remembered! They began by canvassing their community to pass out personal and written invitations to join their party on December 23. Prior to the party, Ellen and Andrew hosted the Bradley Circle children for a coloring contest to prepare decorations for the party and bake some of Ellen’s amazing cookies. Grace Presbyterian joined with RiverTown Church to buy presents for the community. The Bradley Circle LifeHouse was filled with 30+ of the community plus a large group from Grace Presbyterian in an evening of good food, fellowship, and present opening. Pastor Chuck then shared a Christmas devotional with the group and invited all to join in a community caroling outing to end this celebration of the birth of our Savior.  The evening concluded with caroling from house to house in the Bradley Circle community bringing glad tidings of the coming of God’s peace and goodwill to all mankind at the Birth of Jesus Christ- Emmanuel, God with us and for us! Reminds this writer of an old fashion Walton Christmas celebration… You can experience the joy of this community LifeHouse celebration by watching the video below: Louis A. Chalmers, Jr, LifeHouse Director...

TTC led me out of darkness and into the love I’ve longed for my entire life, the love of JESUS.  They’ve taught me to love like Jesus by walking out my created purpose.  My Spirit has been healed, I am whole, because of their obedience to do God’s will.  They have introduced me to and welcomed me into a powerful tribe of women that love Jesus with their whole heart.  Women that strengthen, teach, support, and encourage one another with the power and authority given by the Holy Spirit.  I am eternally grateful for their ministry and humbled to be called family.
