Longing to see His Face

November 30, 2020

Jessica Cronin takes us on a journey describing how she is longing to see her babies face for the first time. In the same way that we should be longing to see The Fathers face for the very first time. This life is full of trials and tribulations, even pain. However, the moment that we see our Father for the first time will prove to have been supremely worth it. Why is Jesus called Jesus Christ or the Messiah?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus from the Bible is called Jesus Christ? In this short bible study, we look at some of the reasons why Jesus is called the Christ or the messiah.     In this session, we look at some of the reasons why Jesus is called the Christ or the Messiah. All through the accounts about Jesus in the gospels, we see him referred to as the Christ. In order to truly understand why this title is important, we must look at some prophecies from the Bible. What we discover when we look through the bible is that the people of Israel had long been waiting for a promised “Messiah” or “Christ”. When Jesus was called the Christ it meant that people were claiming that he was the one they had long been waiting for! “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah…” John 20:30-31 The word Messiah comes from a Hebrew word that means “anointed one”. This Hebrew term was used to specifically point out those that God had appointed for a specific assignment or purpose. When someone was anointed, they were set apart to fulfill God’s plan. The people of Israel knew that there were many prophecies about this coming king who would be a “messiah” or anointed one. There were many prophecies that pointed to this person that they were long expecting and in the gospels we discover that Jesus fulfills all of their expectations. We see that Jesus came as the messiah they had long been waiting for. Jesus is the anointed king of Israel that...

Why is Jesus called the Son of God?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus is called the Son of God in the bible? This is a brief bible study that will help you understand a little bit more about why he is called the Son of God. What does, “Son of God” mean and why is Jesus called that? In this video Bible study, we look at John 20 where Jesus is called the Son of God. In that chapter, it is made clear that everyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God will have life in His name. One of the scriptures that we look at is Psalm 2 where God is mentioned that God has a son. We also explore Matthew 3:17 where Jesus is baptized and God speaks from heaven and calls Jesus His “beloved Son”. The final scripture that we look at is in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Do you have more questions about who Jesus is? We also have some other resources to help you know more about Jesus. Check out this recent post we added to find out more! This is a post exploring another question about why Jesus was called the Son of David. Project LifeHouse // Impacting Lives in Columbus, Georgia

Our ministry is seeing incredible things happen in the East Highland Neighborhood of Columbus, Georgia. We have launched a community-driven food drive that is a part of our Project Lifehouse initiative’s efforts in the community. This is just one example of what God is doing in our city! The Bedsole Family moved from Oregon to come and serve in our city and to live in one of our missionary homes. They are excited to help partner with the neighbors in this community to help encourage and empower those living there to see redemption and restoration of the area. It’s amazing how we’re seeing dignity restored to the area as the community is coming together and serving! Take the City is excited to be partnering with churches and businesses from all over the Chattahoochee Valley area to work towards transforming 10 neighborhoods in our area. The goal of “Project LifeHouse” is to fix up homes in impoverished areas and then place families and individuals in those areas to bring hope and transformation. We plan to do this through consistent service projects, outreaches, and by sharing the love of Christ while living there. Debbie

TAKE THE CITY outreaches have been so special to me. I love being able to see the hand of GOD move in peoples lives as they are healed and families restored. GOD cares about every detail of our lives and he reaches the places that only HE can only heal! Its been an honor to see all the teams go out and share the LOVE that GOD has instilled and filled the teams with, and let it pour out to all the community. Having physical needs met also assures all we encounter, the faithfulness of our Father. So many times I have cried seeing what GOD is doing… Being able to see people brought into the KINGDOM and freedom Spirit, Soul, Mind and Body. Is the greatest treasure in my life. I am grateful for TAKE THE CITY allowing me to have front seat and seeing GOD move in peoples lives!
