Following the Footsteps: Walking Where Jesus Walked

After two years of working on this film project, we are excited to announce the release of our upcoming film: Following the Footsteps! This non-profit feature film documentary is a gospel-centered project that follows a small group of pilgrims who walk together in the historic footsteps of Jesus. “Following the Footsteps” beautifully captures the Good News, as Jesus lived it out, and explores the impact that the Gospel still has on people today. We want as many people as possible to experience the tangible life of Jesus, to know Him personally, and to truly walk where He walked. We are excited to say that premiere screenings of the film are scheduled in four continents, eight countries, and nearly 70 locations. We are hoping for 100 screenings of the film by Palm Sunday weekend. GET MORE INFO ABOUT THE FILM ABOUT FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS Bob and Pam Rognlien lived in the Old City of Jerusalem in 1989-90 where Bob was conducting post-graduate studies in New Testament archaeology and sociology at the Ecole Biblique et Archeologique. Watching tourists come and go past their front door everyday made them realize a typical Holy Land tour misses much of the actual history and culture that illuminates the Way of Jesus. For that reason Bob began to design a unique kind of experience that would go off the beaten track to focus on the most imporant and authentic sites to help people encounter the real Jesus more powerfully.  For over thirty years now we have been leading this historically-informed, spiritually-focused pilgrimage based on the life of Jesus and have seen it literally change many hundreds of lives, as...

Because You Give…One Man Met Jesus Before He Passed Away

December 18, 2023

Because You Give...One Man Met Jesus Before He Passed Away  Into the night hours one Friday a month, Outreach volunteers head out to connect with those whom God loves in hotels, dance clubs, and the streets. Though often dimly lit, the group is recognized and welcomed with a smile. There’s anticipation in the smoky air as everyone greets each other and releases what they’ve been waiting to tell, to ask, to pray. After years of getting to know each other & building trust and friendship, outreach leaders occasionally hear from people who want to stay connected or have a need. This was the case when a call came from a dancer, saying that the club’s doorman was near death from his battle with cancer. The dancer shared that he had unexpectedly made it through the night but asked if anyone from our team could come pray for him now while there was still time. Outreach Coordinator Kristina McKenzie immediately rallied together five team members and headed over to his home where his family had gathered. With their assurance that he would be able to hear them, the team surrounded him and held his hand as they prayed a prayer of forgiveness and salvation. Hours later he passed away. The dancer let our team know how much the visit had meant to her and the family. As believers, we respond to the urgency of the Lord’s prompting. Stopping everything on a Monday afternoon to offer a dying man the opportunity one final time to spend eternity with Jesus is a privilege to be celebrated! It’s because you help make it...

Because You Give…We’re Reaching the Next Generation

December 7, 2023

Because You Give...We're Reaching the Next Generation Dear friends,   Jonathan attended our Harvest Conference this year and was completely blown away.   “I was coming into the conference after the whirlwind of the previous few days feeling pretty sad but Friday night was really eye-opening, and then Saturday was just life-changing. I loved being in that environment,” Jonathan exclaimed.   Since then, Jonathan has become a regular part of our community, partnering with the Harvest House of Prayer in leading a worship set once a week and serving during our monthly community Harvest Night of Worship. Inviting people to become part of what God is doing through Take the City on behalf of the community is what we do.   We’d like to offer you the opportunity to invest in more young men like Jonathan by partnering with Take the City in its ministries. Our goal for the end of the year is $30,000. Yes, I want to help! Changing Lives. Reviving...

Because You Give…Prayer Changed Everything

November 30, 2023

Because You Give...Prayer Changed Everything Dear friends,   Meet Angela, who noticed the Take the City building from across the road one day and was immediately drawn in.   “I walked into the prayer room, and it was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. I left feeling like it was the best day of my life! I went home and prayed with my grandchildren and the next morning, the atmosphere in the whole house was different. The kids were different. I was different,” Angela said.   On that day, Angela had walked right into a group of women from Redeem praying together. Since her first encounter, this dear lady has returned to Redeem and the Harvest House of Prayer many times. It was the Lord who brought her to us and as a result, her life and the lives of her family will never be the same! We love the high-impact events we hold each year and the discipling groups that build long-term relationships. The one-on-one encounters, though, where you look into a person’s eyes and see a light come on? That’s a joy like no other.   Today we’d like to offer you the opportunity to help more women like Angela by partnering with Take the City in its ministries. Our goal for the end of the year is $30,000. Yes, I want to help! Changing Lives. Reviving...

Sarah

My experience with the Take the City crew was like coming into a family.  Our team was welcomed in with open arms with like-hearted believers who love Jesus and have laid down their lives to serve the broken of the city! It was an honor to come alongside them, be welcomed into their homes, share meals, and experience the transformational work that God is doing in and through them to see His Kingdom come.
