My name is Brandon McKenzie and I am 31 years old. I belong to my beautiful wife, Kristina, and my two amazing children, a 3-year-old girl named Bella and a 5-year-old boy named Sawyer. God delivered Kristina and I from years of drug addiction. Since then we’ve longed to see others awaken to the love of God as we have been.

We have a long-standing history serving in recovery ministry, doing just that, but recently the Lord has led us out of this and has truly connected our hearts to the ministry of Take the City, more specifically, to the Harvest House of Prayer. It is my utmost honor to take on this new role of coordinating the prayer room. We are so excited! Here is a clear description of what Harvest House of Prayer is all about.

What is Harvest House of Prayer?

Harvest House of Prayer is a sacred space for people from all over our community to come together to worship and pray. We gather with people from various churches and denominations each morning, noon, and night.  We are open daily from 7 am until 8 pm Monday through Saturday. There are “live” prayer and worship sets that take place throughout the week and at other times the prayer room is open and available for people to quietly pray, study, and spend time with the Lord in an atmosphere of worship. We want to give Him all of our attention and affection because He is simply worthy of It.

Prayer Room

Focuses of The Prayer Room

One of the central focuses of our prayer room is Matthew 9:37-38 where Jesus asked His disciples to ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers. This prayer request is where the name of our house of prayer is founded. We believe this will add powerful momentum to our evangelistic efforts in our community and beyond. We believe that as we pray this, God will answer.

Another theme of our time in prayer and worship is the celebration of the Gospel and all that Jesus has done for us. As we lift high the name of Jesus He will continue to draw people to Himself in our city and abroad (John 12:32). This will actually serve to unify us as we gather in one accord, with the common goal of magnifying Jesus.

Worship Gathering at Harvest House of Prayer

The third characteristic of Harvest House of Prayer is also most essential. It is our individual ministry to the Lord. We take time daily to minister directly to God and worship Him because He alone is truly worthy (1 Peter 2:9-10). Many times throughout each day there may only be one or a few people worshipping. That is completely okay and we even celebrate this. Harvest House of Prayer is dedicated to an audience of One. He is worthy of our time, our songs, and our prayers and we offer ourselves to Him each day, no matter how many might be in the room. We do this consistently and passionately because the worth of Jesus compels us to.

Looking forward

My family and I look forward to serving the city of Columbus through this house of prayer. We are filled with gratitude to belong to a ministry as meaningful and impactful as Take the City and that we get to be considered a part of this great community. We Look forward to seeing you soon at HHOP. God bless you!

Please let us know if you would like to get involved by volunteering at the Harvest House of Prayer! We are open Monday through Saturday. The daily hours for the prayer room are 7 am until 8 pm. We’re looking for prayer and worship leaders to come and volunteer their time each week.

Zan

Take the City has had a huge impact on me and my daughter. When God led me from one place, this door was wide opened. I had the great ability to experience more of God and see the signs that follow them that believed. *Mark 16:17-20*

The people I've met have showed soooooo much love to us and I'm grateful for that. Not only do they teach on truth, but they walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and encourage others around them to do so also!
God has also allowed me to be a part of a ministry as well.
I want to say thank you thank you God first and thank you to Take the City!!❤
