On Saturday April 17th, believers from 10 different churches in the Chattahoochee Valley area gathered at Take the City. We spent a short time in prayer and worship, received training, and then split up into 7 groups to go out and share the Gospel with our friends and neighbors.
Of those who went out, there were 4 people who bravely stepped out for the first time. All came back encouraged! One of the 4 was Cindy, who oversees our Women’s Clothing Closet.
The Lord rescued Cindy out of trafficking in Columbus through our Redeem ministry. She had been hesitant to go out on outreach, because she did not want to be triggered and drawn back into the life she once knew. Resolved to wait on the Lord, she waited patiently for the green light from the Holy Spirit. Saturday morning came and she felt like the Lord said, “Go.” Shocked a little by this word, Cindy turned to her husband and said, “I think the Lord is saying, ‘Go to outreach this morning.'” He was a little taken aback as well; he knew how long Cindy had been praying for this. They talked it over and decided that she should go.
Cindy said yes to the call of God, and He made sure she was safe and sound. By His grace, the Lord miraculously paired Cindy with George and Monica Pfannschmidt, the couple she had shared dinner with prior to heading to a program a few years prior. Their team ministered in a neighborhood where Cindy had been held against her will. By the power and overflow of Jesus, she expirienced joy and peace on that street and was able to minister fully.
As said in Psalm 18:2, “The Lord is my protector; he is my strong fortress. My God is my protection, and with him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; he defends me and keeps me safe”. The Lord kept Cindy safe and made His power known to those around her. God is good!
