The last couple of weeks have been crazy amazing!! We had two ladies in the safe house. They were both super impacted by our faithful volunteers who came to pour into them during their stay. Seeds were planted, and we are believing for incredible fruit to come forth in these precious ladies’ lives.
Earlier last week, Redeem was invited to a family reunion where various speakers came together and had sessions on financial planning, small business planning, mental health, overall health, homeless situations and what the community could do about it. We actually learned how to make waterproof mats for the homeless made out of shopping bags, and of course, we spoke on human (sex) trafficking. The response was amazing. Many people came to our table and signed up to learn more about trafficking and how they could help as well as purchased products from our Beautifully Made line.
Outreach Friday night was phenomenal! There were amazing encounters with women who were ready for a change, ready for a new life. We encountered a mother with two small children. She had just days before fought off a man who was trying to sell her and her daughter. There were visible wounds on her body of the struggle she went through to protect herself and her children. Such a strong Mom! Continue to pray for breakthrough for the people we encounter on outreach.
Saturday a team of 34 from Church of the Highlands came and blessed the safe house with a huge labor of love. An anointed painting that was donated to Redeem was hung, shelves were built in closets, and major branches were removed from the exterior of the safe house. While working outside the team was approached by a young man who lived down the street. He thought that it was amazing that they were helping out because, “…this lady lives alone and could use the help.” He took some pictures of the team at work and they invited him to come to their church on Sunday and offered to help other people (including him) in the neighborhood.
Also, on Saturday, Redeem held an equipping session at the Take the City building where over 25 people came from different parts of the Chattahoochee Valley. They received training on hearing the Lord’s voice and on how to evangelize their city.
The Lord is doing powerful things in and through the Redeem team. We love and appreciate you all!
