Redeem – Women receiving ministry in the midst of COVID-19

The pandemic is affecting everyone and yes, especially women in the sex industry. Our Redeem teams have been ramping up efforts in the midst of so much uncertainty to be able to be a helping hand to women we’ve been ministering to over the years during this time.

As strip clubs have closed down, women are out of work and in great need of food and supplies for their families. In reaching out, we have been able to provide over 15 women with food and baby products. Some are even considering changing job occupancies because our leaders are helping them with resumes and job applications! Furthermore, we are starting a zoom women’s group with some of them at the beginning of May.

We have been able to help in various other ways as well. One, we’ve taken small groups to areas Redeem consistently visits to bring food boxes to women and their families as many have lost their jobs. Two, we are starting a zoom women’s group at the beginning of May with some of the ladies we have been ministering to. Three, we have been able to minister to women online and bring them beloved bags and offer other services for job opportunities and ways out of the life.

One way people can help in this time:

We are in the process of launching our women and children’s closet to meet tangible needs. We believe this can open the door to discipleship & even helping them reach their destiny God has for their life!

Many women coming out of jail, in the life of drug addiction, or prostitution don’t have access to feminine products, clean NEW underwear, and many other necessities.

We believe empowering them to take care of themselves and having nicer clothes can boost their confidence and help them desire to take that job interview or take a step towards their future.

“Getting to be a part of Take the City was such a blessing both in seeing how God moved in the lives of the people I met as well as how he moved in my heart. I was so encouraged to be surrounded by people willing to passionately pray for their city and the people in it. As we worshipped, people would stop and ask what was going on and we got to talk and pray with them. I felt a greater desire to pray for our nation grow in me as we sang and prayed together.”
