Local Outreach – Rain Couldn’t Stop the Love of Jesus!

June 23, 2021

Local Outreach - Rain Couldn't Stop the Love of Jesus! We are so thankful for all the volunteers who join with us every third Saturday of the month to reach our region with the love of Jesus. The Body of Christ comes together across denominational, generational, and racial lines as one Church representing one King. This past month, we were able to pray with 28 people, feed 3, and watch as one young woman gave her life to Christ. As the rain came and went, our teams got creative and  ministered to people in the mall, outside of Family Dollar, and in the streets of the Bibb city area. One of our leaders, Tyrone, thought of the idea to purchase umbrellas and walk people from the building to their cars and vice versa. He and his team had Gospel conversations and prayed for people as they guided them back and forth. One young woman heard the Gospel for the first time and received the free gift of salvation. She exchanged numbers with our team to receive continual discipleship. God knows what we need and is faithful to provide! We thank Jesus for the encounter with this woman! Rain or shine, God gets the Glory! Every month we are seeing people saved, healed, delivered, and set free in Jesus’ name. We would love an opportunity to tell you more about how you, your family, your church, or your ministry can join us. This is a great opportunity for families, small groups, ministry teams, neighbors, and/or friends. You don’t want to miss the July outreach event happening Saturday, July 17th at 10am at 2910...

Friendship Baptist Church Community Outreach

November 26, 2019

We are thankful for our ministry partnership with Pastor Emmitt Aniton and the historic Friendship Baptist Church on 6th Ave in Downtown Columbus. We were blessed to join them for their annual Saturday community outreach in September. I’ve never felt more welcomed by any church family than Nancy and I experienced that Saturday. We were given a VIP tour of the building and enjoyed learning their story of faithfulness as a family of faith. Taking the church outside of our buildings is an excellent opportunity to  share with our communities that the Church is not our lovely buildings built to the glory of God, but we his children worshiping, praising, and sharing hospitality and love with our neighbors. (Jn. 13:35) The morning kicked off at 10am with a welcome, worship, and praise under a tent. A message of Gospel encouragement was responded to by several rededications and new professions of faith. Mayor Skipper brought greetings from our City Council and encouraged more of this type of community outreach in our community by all churches. An excellent lunch followed with burgers, dogs, and all the trimmings.  There was an amazing video gamers van that the young and young of heart enjoyed. Quite an amazing Saturday morning in downtown Columbus. Let us know if you have community outreaches at your churches that we can join in with you.  You and your church family are always welcome to join our Take the City Unity Night of Prayer at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Friday and outreach on the 3rd Saturday each month. Mark December 21-22 on your calendar and plan to join us at 2910 2nd...

Harvest Nights

Did you know every third Thursday of the month believers from all over the Valley area are gathering to worship Jesus and to pray over their communities together? One of our core values here at Take the City concerns unifying churches from all different denominations and cultural backgrounds. For us it is one of our greatest joys and privileges to use the prayer room, Harvest House of Prayer, for this very purpose.

We invite you to come join us and see what God is doing on these Harvest Nights! These nights of worship combined with our Saturday outreaches create a powerful equipping force in the lives of believers, as we learn what it means to worship, pray, evangelize, and make disciples who make disciples in our city and beyond. So come on out, get involved, meet like-minded believers, and let’s worship the Lord together!
