Hope Inspires

Hope Inspires//Cindy Gardner It’s our joy to conclude our Inspire Campaign stories with someone who is a true inspiration to us, as well as to so many in the community. Cindy Gardner is the Follow-up Coordinator for Redeem’s Beautiful Exchange Boutique at Take the City. Her story really began when someone handed her a card they’d been given through a TTC outreach. She called the number, and the rest is now a three-year history. Today, you might find Cindy driving someone as far as Montgomery, AL to a treatment center, taking blankets out on the street, or with her host of volunteers, organizing donated clothes. The boutique, which was remodeled this year, has racks of clothes in all sizes, accessories, shoes, and handbags, as well as hygiene kits. “Not only do women come in from the street, where they can also get a shower and use the laundry facilities, but women who need an outfit for a job interview or other appointments can come in. Nothing is sold here– it’s all given away,” Cindy said. Her volunteers have seen the changes in the women who come through and have heard their stories. “It’s what it’s all about,” said one volunteer with tears in her eyes. “I cry even just looking around the boutique, because it represents giving God our best.” Cindy has a vision for the future that Redeem will offer its own rehab program one day. If anyone can see it done, Cindy, who does nothing without the Lord, has the inspiring faith needed that will lead to reaching more and more women. Inspired by Cindy’s testimony? Become...

The Beautiful Exchange – Redeem

June 30, 2020

From a helping hand to now transforming lives. These are the testimonies we are already seeing through the Beautiful Exchange Clothing Closet. Through the community, we are receiving AMAZING donations to offer to these women for an opportunity to sit down with them, pray with them, and hear their stories and dreams. Our desire is to build trust with them and help them get into a program that could help them overcome prostitution, homelessness, addiction, and other life-altering issues! Just last week, a man and a woman chose to get off the streets and into a program! We are so encouraged to see God not only use this closet to help with tangible needs but also launch people into wholeness and their destinies.  We also were able to help our sweet friend Charlette find sobriety and get into a program weeks before taking her last breath here on earth. She had suffered from COPD for years and our team was able to minister to her and encourage her to go after the things of the Kingdom instead of the things of the world. She rededicated her life to Jesus and is now dancing in paradise with Him! We are believing for miracles to break out within her family who are now connected with us.     We are honored to partner with the community, Damascus Way, and many of you who have made this dream possible! The gospel is still transforming hearts, and we won’t stop until we see every heart touched!  Go to takethecity.com/redeem to read how you can be more...

United In Prayer

What is United in Prayer?
United in Prayer is an initiative of Take the City which unifies local believers for worship and intercession to prepare the way for lives to be transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

What does the Church need today?
“What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use — men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men — men of prayer.”

― E.M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer
