Redeem – When God meets you everywhere you go…

August 27, 2021

Redeem - When God meets you everywhere you go... Psalms 139:7-10 reads Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. On two separate street outreach nights, the Lord has led our team to a small yet hungry family. This family didn’t lack food but was hungry for the truth, the truth that could only be found at the feet of Jesus.  Hungry for Truth As our team approached Motel 6 on our second outreach night of the month, we were met with celebration. The young father stood in amazement as he said, “I can’t believe I am seeing you all twice. I was just asking the Lord for a sign that he is real and I see you all again.” The young mother of baby O, 10 months and full of joy, smiled and greeted the team gladly accepting her rose. The young mother mentioned that she planted the rose she received the first time in the front bushes and watched it come to life. She mentioned that it recently died, and here we were again with another one to give her! How cool is God’s timing! The family has been staying in a hotel for a month now, awaiting approval for a stable place. The father is the...

Local Outreach – Confession

July 28, 2021

Local Outreach - Confession 20 Years of Ministry In my nearly 20 years of serving the Lord in ministry I have been blessed to preach the gospel in different parts of America and even in other countries around the world. I have had personal evangelistic conversations with people I knew well and others I had just met. I have stayed mindful of verses like Mark 16:15 that gives us Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’ Also, in Acts 1:8, Jesus says, “…and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”. We are so loved by God that He chose not only to save us but also to entrust us with His glorious gospel. He allows us to be the ones to share it with all people everywhere. What an amazing love! What a marvelous mission! Confession I do have a confession. Over the years I have made the mistake of remembering the nations but missing my neighbors. I have invested time, energy, prayer, and money to fulfill the call of God to go to “Judea, Samaria, and even the remotest parts of the earth”, but missed many opportunities to witness in “Jerusalem”. I have personally been challenged this past year to live out the command of Mark 8:31 to “love your neighbor”. I have intentionally looked to get to know my neighbors and share the love of Jesus with them. Not just neighbors who share my city but those who share my street. I no...

July 4th Tea Party – Young Ave

July 30, 2020

Over the last month, there has been a lot of activity at the Young Ave Project Lifehouse home. Maya and Nacie have been busy connecting with their neighbors, especially the children. The children love Miss Maya and Miss Nacie; they come running over whenever one of them gets home.  On July 4th, Maya and Nacie had planned to have a cookout but not all the plans came together in time. Wanting to still meet with their neighbors, Maya and Nacie decided to have a Tea Party. Maya went inside and turned on their speaker to have worship music playing through the screen door. The neighbors pitched in and helped set up tables and chairs while Maya and Nacie brought their mugs outside. The kids helped pass out cookies, and everyone sat down and enjoyed themselves. When the tea party was almost over and Maya and Nacie were about to clean up, an argument broke out between a woman and a child who was not her own. The little boy had hit her daughter, and she was angry. She had a right to be, but she was taking it too far. The mom shouted at him and let the boy have it. Then, all of a sudden, she stopped, grabbed her kids, and left.  Miss Maya began talking with the little boy about the situation. He cried a little and felt sorry. Maya proceeded to guide the little boy across the street to apologize to the Mom and her child. After he apologized, the mom explained that she had just given her life to Christ two weeks earlier. All she...

Harvest Coffee in the midst of COVID19

May 1, 2020

During this pandemic and crisis for our nation and world, Harvest Coffee Co has put the efforts to help in overdrive! Immediately, our employees responded to needy families in our community, who with job loss, were in need of food and other supplies. Through all sorts of goods and monetary donations from businesses and friends in the area, we were able to provide for 300 families to have enough food for an entire week! We hosted a food drive outside of Harvest Coffee where people drove through and all received a box for a week’s worth of food as well as prayer as they went on their way! Many were touched, some cried, and all were blessed with some needed supplies for this time!  Since our initial food drive, we have been able to pass out food boxes to another couple hundred people, and even now, we still have leftover funds and supplies and are packing more boxes to give out! The community has come in to support like we could have never imagined or hoped for! We are truly grateful! We have also been hard at work to respond to the crisis through faith and encouraging the body of Christ to believe for healing and a touch from God on our world! We have released a video that directly prays for those who have contracted COVID-19 and believe for their healing! Through this, we have seen many actually healed from COVID-19 as well as some who had other issues and just happened to watch it.  The community has even gotten behind this, and people have donated over a...

Even with only 2 Take the City Outreaches under my belt, they have made such an impact in my own personal journey of faith, and others I have crossed paths with! The most special part to me is knowing that even if I meet someone and I never see them again, I know God has allowed me to touch their heart and plant a seed that I couldn’t have done sitting at home. I’m so thankful for this organization because it truly has allowed me to connect with others, with the goal of bringing them closer to Christ, while becoming closer with God myself at the same time.
