HopeStory: A Life touched by the love of God
September 11, 2015During a Take the City one month we sent teams all over the area to give away girl scout cookies and to share the gospel. One of our teams drove past a house with a bunch of people out on the front porch and decided to stop and ask if they wanted cookies. All the people at the house quickly responded that they would love some cookies so our team got out and began to give them out to everyone there. Then our team was able to begin talking with them and one of the women who lived there named Lucretia told our team that she didn’t believe in God and that she was addicted to drugs. Our team was then able to encourage her and I was able to share my own testimony of overcoming addiction through the power of Jesus Christ. As I shared my story she began to cry as God began to work in her heart and give her hope that things could change. After I got done with my story I asked if anyone wanted to give their lives to Jesus and have their lives changed by Him. Lucretia was the first one standing and then almost everyone else on the porch stood up with her to pray with our team and commit their lives to Jesus. Afterwards she then told us that for the very first time in her life she felt God’s love for her and that she had never felt anything like that before.
