Testimonies from Tent America!

October 30, 2018

The Lord moved all over the States during Tent America. Here are some powerful testimonies of how He encountered people around the country.   Oregon – An agnostic on campus experienced the presence of God when we prayed for him and realized that the reason he’d recently been studying the Bible in one of his classes and picked up a book called “The Secret: Ask, Believer, Receive” was because God was real and was pursuing a relationship with him. Maine – We walked up to a door and knocked. A woman named Debora was there, and after talking with her a few minutes, we discovered she had been diagnosed with bone cancer. After encouraging her, we prayed for her healing. She was very grateful for our visit. New Hampshire –  One woman had a leg shorter than the other, and it grew out! Another story, there was a couple who were both believers. The woman’s back pain was at a 10 and went completely away. She got up and said “Hey, wow! That feels really good!” Then we prayed for her husband who had a stiff neck and that was healed as well! You could tell he was sincerely interested in the fact that we are called to walk out signs, miracles and wonders, just as Jesus did. The couple were very thankful we came. Oklahoma – A young pregnant mother of two said, “I can’t sleep and am dealing with a lot of anxiety” After receiving prayer, she said through tears, “Thank you so much, thank you for coming today.” Minnesota – On Friday at Tent America 2018, I encountered a homeless Native American...

Ministry Update! – Fall 2018

October 11, 2018

Impact since 2016 – Our ministry has impacted thousands of lives since 2016 not only in the Chattahoochee Valley but in many cities all over the States. Through our various outreaches, events, and initiatives we’ve impacted well over 15,000 people with the gospel.  We’ve had people from hundreds of churches involved in our various events both locally and in other cities. We’ve seen over 250 people come to Christ and helped connect them to local churches or programs like Teen Challenge. We launched an initiative called Project: Lifehouse to transform neighborhoods; we currently have two missional families living in communities in Columbus through this project. We’ve also launched an initiative called Redeem that helps rescue women out of prostitution and trafficking and gets them into restoration programs. The initiative has a fully operational safe home for immediate care for the women. Powerful stories of redemption are happening!  Lastly, we’ve trained more than 4,000 church members in cities all over America and even internationally to reach their communities with the Gospel. Our team has planned 12+ conferences and citywide training events around the US and one in Africa. We’ve seen well over 5,000 homes reached with the gospel through these various training events. God is doing amazing things, and we believe that this is just the beginning! We want to thank you all so much for your consistent prayers and support....

Local Company Donates to Project: Lifehouse

January 5, 2018

We are so excited to announce that at the end of 2017 the local company, Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Inc. made a large donation towards our Project: LifeHouse initiative. Our ministry is so thankful for local businesses who believe that it is important that we make a difference in our city. They made this $2,500 donation to help us finish our very first Project: LifeHouse home which is located in Bradley Circle which is a small part of the city-village area of Columbus, Ga. This month we plan to have completed our very first ministry home and we (The Chalmers Family) will be moving into this neighborhood. Our dream is to move families in who will help to sponsor and adopt communities that are in need of revitalization.  So far we have 4 of these homes that we plan to fix up before the end of this year and move people into these neighborhoods. Our dream is to have 10 of these Project: LifeHouse homes up and running by 2020. We believe that as people incarnate the Gospel of the Kingdom into neighborhoods that have been plighted with crime and poverty that we will see entire neighborhoods transformed. If you would like to get involved by volunteering, making a donation or even want to consider moving into one of these communities please contact us!  Andrew Chalmers Founder and Director, Take the...

Brittany

I have been serving in some way with Take the city since October 2013. I spent a lot of time on the prayer team in the beginning and encountered God’s heart for the city in a life changing way. When the teams came back and shared testimonies, it was always fun to see that our prayers coincided with some of their testimonies in special ways. More recently I have had the privilege of leading a team to a nursing home where I used to be an employee. I used to pray over the facility every day, and it was such a miracle to see an old friend who lives there give his life to Jesus on one of our outreaches a year later. God sure has a way of answering prayers. And Take the City is an answer to so many prayers that have gone up here.
