“Today, I believe I stepped into my destiny!” – Cindy

May 27, 2020

Transformation follows surrender. Many of you know Cindy! Jesus has radically touched her heart over the years. She has overcome SO much in her life and is now helping other women out of the life of addiction and off the streets! It is truly a beautiful sight to see the way she so selflessly loves each and every woman that she encounters. Just her testimony to these women gives them hope for their future! When Cindy fully surrendered everything, she had no idea what Jesus had in store for her! The blessings just keep coming and coming in her life.  She is now in the process of becoming the Clothing Closet Coordinator for our women’s ministry! She has already impacted many lives through the process of getting our closet ready for action. After one day of helping 4 women, she tells us, as she chokes back tears, “Today, I believe I stepped into my destiny!”  That day, Charlotte, one of the four women, made the brave decision to go to a long term treatment! Let’s continue to pray for her journey to freedom. We are so thankful for all of those who have donated clothes, hygiene products and food to further our reach to women in addiction, prostitution & trafficking. These precious gifts are a direct message of the beautiful exchange Jesus showed us on the cross & by His...

Redeem – Women receiving ministry in the midst of COVID-19

May 1, 2020

The pandemic is affecting everyone and yes, especially women in the sex industry. Our Redeem teams have been ramping up efforts in the midst of so much uncertainty to be able to be a helping hand to women we’ve been ministering to over the years during this time.  As strip clubs have closed down, women are out of work and in great need of food and supplies for their families. In reaching out, we have been able to provide over 15 women with food and baby products. Some are even considering changing job occupancies because our leaders are helping them with resumes and job applications! Furthermore, we are starting a zoom women’s group with some of them at the beginning of May.  We have been able to help in various other ways as well. One, we’ve taken small groups to areas Redeem consistently visits to bring food boxes to women and their families as many have lost their jobs. Two, we are starting a zoom women’s group at the beginning of May with some of the ladies we have been ministering to. Three, we have been able to minister to women online and bring them beloved bags and offer other services for job opportunities and ways out of the life.  One way people can help in this time: We are in the process of launching our women and children’s closet to meet tangible needs. We believe this can open the door to discipleship & even helping them reach their destiny God has for their life!  Many women coming out of jail, in the life of drug addiction, or prostitution don’t...

Redeem Outreach

November 26, 2019

During one of our outreaches this month we saw many miracles happen within our city. Prior to going out on the streets, we spent a while worshipping and praying. During that time, we asked God to show us what He wanted to do tonight. Everyone in the room heard something in relation to downtown Columbus. We finished praying and split into three teams. We drove downtown and began walking around, sharing the love of Jesus everywhere we went. Among our teams, we were able to minister to people in many different walks of life: atheist, homosexuality, and military families. The love of Christ knows no borders and is available for everyone. We saw many peoples’ hearts opened by the love of Jesus in us, and their hearts being delivered from bondage. We know the call on our lives is to love God and be radically obedient to His leading. We are seeing our team come alive as we go to the lost and experience what they were created for: being His hands and His feet.  Be Praying! We are still following up with those we met and are believing for great breakthrough!  Email Jessica Cronin at jessica@take-the-city.com to get...

Donna

My first encounter with Take the City was going to Wilson Apartments in Columbus GA. We were met by a man from that neighborhood who prayed with us before we began the outreach. We set up an area for the kids to play and others went door to door witnessing and praying for people. It truly was a humbling experience. Another time I got to pray at an abortion clinic which was another humbling experience. The worship services the night before are always dynamic and spirit led. However I will conclude with the best part for me was being an eight week participant of Take the City boot camp. All of the leaders were simply AWESOME and I learned so much during those eight weeks. I thank God for all these wonderful opportunities!
