Redeem – Seeing God’s Love in Tangible Ways

June 29, 2022

Redeem - Seeing God's Love in Tangible Ways During our Friday night outreach, our team was able to pray for a woman named Shaniece at a local strip club. She specifically asked prayer for her marriage. Two weeks later, Shaniece contacted us with a praise report! Her husband came home, reuniting their little family, and on top of that, they are going back to church! God is so good! At Harvest Coffee one day, Ms. Dorris stopped in at the prompting of the Holy Spirit. She asked if there was any way we could help her with a shower since her water had been shut off a week ago. What do you know?! We had just finished getting our new shower installed, cleaned, and ready to receive people by that morning! On top of getting a shower, we were able to give her fresh clothes in just her size. The Lord provided for her every need. This is just the beginning of loving these women through our boutique: The Beautiful Exchange.  All are welcome to our Grand Opening July 12 at 11 am at Take the City.  Come and help us pray over this new space and celebrate what God is doing! A special thank you to all of our donors and volunteers who have made this day happen! P.S. If you are curious about outreach with Redeem, please email...

Redeem – Reuniting Family

November 23, 2020

19 year old girl is reunited with her son and family for thanksgiving this year. Right before the holidays, our team was able to help a young girl that had been arrested along with others who we believe were trafficking her across state lines. Our team was able to minister to her and even have women in our coffee shop pray over her! As we were walking away, she told me, “I still feel power flowing through my body”. Through the weekend we saw her light up with JOY and worship God. We were able to get her into a safe place to rest and then send her back home to reunite with her two year old son and family! We believe God has big things in store for her in the future and will plan to stay in touch with her as she begins her journey of wholeness.  If you would like to get involved with helping women out of trafficking, sign up on our...

Redeem – W.A.R. Weekend – Worship And Reformation

November 5, 2019

This month we hosted our FIRST EVER W.A.R. Weekend in Opelika, Alabama. W.A.R. Weekend’s consist of continuous prayer, worship and outreach at a hotel that our teams have found to be rampant with trafficking and prostitution. We believe that the issue of human trafficking will be eradicated as the Gospel goes forth in every city, and the body of Christ is equipped to reach men and women in their very own city. Our team saw many lives impacted, saved and touched by the love of Jesus! The following is one special encounter. One of our leaders in Opelika had been ministering to a lady she reached through their online outreaches. Lo and behold, the woman was staying in the room RIGHT ABOVE US while we were worshiping and interceding over the hotel!!! She texted our leader asking if she could join us. The leader of course said yes! When she joined them, there was a precious moment where she was able to encounter the presence of the Lord and His pursuit on her heart. She was able to do this in the very place she has been surviving by performing services for men. Wow! What beauty! Jesus longs to meet us where we are! We don’t have to clean up for Him. We simply need to come to Him and that is what this woman did. Jesus is so in love with these women and desires for them to know how worthy and valued they are. We are still in contact with many of the women we encountered and hope to see them discipled and brought into our loving...

Prayer request from Redeem Outreach- Ashley!

May 18, 2017

The following information is a urgent prayer request that occurred on one of our Redeem sex trafficking outreaches. The names have been changed to protect the victims identity. Redeem exist to see the eradication of sex trafficking through intervention and cultural revolution. While on a recent outreach, we encountered a young lady who looked very battered and broken. As our team approached her, a man looked out of a hotel room, seeming to be frustrated and alarmed. (He saw our van and did not know what was going on) He asked “Is everything ok?”, we replied, “Yes” and continued to talk to the young lady. She told us her name and confided in us about her problems with being physically abused and would like prayers for that; she would not let on that she needed help but said she has friends who are active in prostitution and she can pass on the hotline card to them. So we encouraged her to call if she ever felt the need to get out of her situation. We were also able to pray with her and bring the hope of Jesus Christ into her life. We believe that her life is forever changed and will be transformed from this one encounter with Jesus. Please pray that Ashley will call the hotline and find the freedom and restoration! Thank you so much for your faithful support and prayers; we could not do it without you! Please check out takethecity.com/redeem and see more of what we do and how you can help. (The picture below is not an actual picture of Ashley but is very close to the...

United in Prayer

What is United in Prayer?

United in Prayer is an initiative of Take the City which unifies local believers for worship and intercession to prepare the way for lives to be transformed by the love and power of Jesus.
What does the Church need today?

“What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use — men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men — men of prayer.”

― E.M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer

Join us along with men, woman and families as we gather together with unified hearts and minds to pray for our city!
