Help Improve Your Team – Proverbs 27

February 2, 2017

Being a leader can be an enormous challenge and a huge privilege all at once. One of the biggest blessings you have as a leader/ parent/ teacher is getting to watch those you lead grow. There is so much joy to be found as you get to watch them discover their talents, their passions and pursue their dreams. Below is an encouraging word for ministry leaders, pastors and volunteer leaders on how we can apply this simple scripture to help improve your team! Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations. When the hay is removed and new growth appears and the grass from the hills is gathered in, the lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. You will have plenty of goats’ milk to feed your family and to nourish your female servants. (Prov 27:23-Prov 27:27 NIV ) A Few Things we can learn: God’s greatest treasure he’s given us in the ministry we work in is not the donors, the assets or the events. The greatest treasure are the people He’s entrusted us with. Think of your team this morning and allow God to show you how they are treasure that He’s entrusted you with. Take a few minutes to pray over them. Prayer is a powerful way to help improve your team! Take an honest assessment of your “flock”. Who’s on your team and how are they really doing? Do you sense any conflict, strife or...

What is Project: LifeHouse?

November 18, 2016

What is Project: LifeHouse? We are so excited to announce that God is taking one of our dreams and turning it into a reality. Over the last year we have dreamed of establishing missionary homes in areas we are working and we’ve recently been given a home to use for this very purpose! The name of this dream is Project: Lifehouse. Take the City is excited to be partnering with churches and businesses from all over the Chattahoochee Valley area to work towards transforming 10 neighborhoods in our area. The goal of “Project LifeHouse” is to fix up homes in impoverished areas and then place families and individuals in those areas to bring hope and transformation. We plan to do this through consistent service projects, outreaches and by sharing the love of Christ while living there. In exchange for doing weekly service projects and outreaches in those areas these families and individuals will pay reduced rent to stay in these homes in exchange for their service. Over time we believe that these efforts will transform the neighborhoods we are working in by decreasing crime and increasing the quality of life in these areas. Please watch the video below that tells more of the story and simply respond to this email if you would like to get involved with this project in any way! Melissa – YWAM Boston

“Getting to be a part of Take the City was such a blessing both in seeing how God moved in the lives of the people I met as well as how he moved in my heart. I was so encouraged to be surrounded by people willing to passionately pray for their city and the people in it. As we worshipped, people would stop and ask what was going on and we got to talk and pray with them. I felt a greater desire to pray for our nation grow in me as we sang and prayed together.”
