United in Prayer

July 19, 2019

What is United in Prayer? United in Prayer is an initiative of Take the City which unifies local believers for worship and intercession to prepare the way for lives to be transformed by the love and power of Jesus. Come join us as we intercede for the Chattahoochee Valley! What does the Church need today? “What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use — men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men — men of prayer.” ― E.M. Bounds, Power Through...

Washington D.C. Testimony!

September 1, 2016

This summer, we offered an internship program called Occupy for high school and college students. Occupy is a 6-week program that is geared toward helping students grow in their identity and intimacy with God by going deeper in the Word of God, prayer, and evangelism. We offer the opportunity for students to learn the backbones of ministry by working closely with Take the City staff in administration, social media, and videography. While in the program, the students took a trip to Washington D.C. to pray for people on the streets, share the Gospel, and participate in an event called Together 2016. Here is a testimony from one of our students named Sean: “The trip to Washington D.C. was exciting and an experience I won’t ever forget. God showed me that when I follow him everything works out just as he plans, and his plans are inevitable and unstoppable. I can’t always identify what God is trying to show me, but I feel his presence, and it feels wonderful, like a roller coaster ride that never ends, a high that can take me further than the clouds or the stars. Donna

My first encounter with Take the City was going to Wilson Apartments in Columbus GA. We were met by a man from that neighborhood who prayed with us before we began the outreach. We set up an area for the kids to play and others went door to door witnessing and praying for people. It truly was a humbling experience. Another time I got to pray at an abortion clinic which was another humbling experience. The worship services the night before are always dynamic and spirit led. However I will conclude with the best part for me was being an eight week participant of Take the City boot camp. All of the leaders were simply AWESOME and I learned so much during those eight weeks. I thank God for all these wonderful opportunities!
