Project Lifehouse – The Lord is Moving

September 30, 2020

Over the last 4 months, we have been doing a food distribution in front of our Project Lifehouse once a month.  During this time, something amazing has taken place. The community that the food distribution is for, are coming together to make it happen! One lady came through to get food, and then asked if she could stay and help! We said “YES” and she jumped right in! PRAISE THE LORD!!  Our focus is not just to give out food, but to bring the neighborhood together and build community.  We are seeing the beginnings of revitalization, as we partner with neighboring churches and with others around our community, especially our neighbors, Miss Pearly May and her daughter Jan.  They have taken it upon themselves to lead the charge in bringing the neighborhood together each and every month.  If you or someone you know would like to be connected with Project Lifehouse, call Louis Chalmers at...

Local Outreach – Answered Prayer

February 1, 2020

Saturday January 18, we split up into teams and went to different neighborhoods to preach the Gospel and share Christ’s love. Over the past few months, one of our outreach leaders, Dasi, has felt led to take a team and go to her own neighborhood in the Staffordshire subdivision and share the Gospel. When she went this past time, God answered a woman’s prayer. Dasi and a new friend ventured to her neighborhood. After they parked at her house, they prayed and asked the Lord where they should go. They began walking and simultaneously were drawn to a house nearby. Dasi and her friend knocked on the door and what happened next was God and God alone. The woman yelled, “Come in!” To her surprise, Dasi found the door to be unlocked and slowly opened it. They walked down the center hallway and found the woman in the kitchen. The woman had been praying all night and had asked God to give her a sign that He was there and cared about her. Dasi and her friend introduced themselves and explained that they were there to pray for her. The woman grasped Dasi’s friend’s hand and responded through tears, “I know Jesus loves me, because God sent you both here to me today.” The three women sat and exchanged stories. The Lord’s power began to fill the room as they prayed for each other. The women connected and let go; they wept together and rejoiced as the Lord moved in their hearts. The Lord ministered to each woman with specific words of encouragement, and for the lady of the...

What is Project: LifeHouse?

November 18, 2016

What is Project: LifeHouse? We are so excited to announce that God is taking one of our dreams and turning it into a reality. Over the last year we have dreamed of establishing missionary homes in areas we are working and we’ve recently been given a home to use for this very purpose! The name of this dream is Project: Lifehouse. Take the City is excited to be partnering with churches and businesses from all over the Chattahoochee Valley area to work towards transforming 10 neighborhoods in our area. The goal of “Project LifeHouse” is to fix up homes in impoverished areas and then place families and individuals in those areas to bring hope and transformation. We plan to do this through consistent service projects, outreaches and by sharing the love of Christ while living there. In exchange for doing weekly service projects and outreaches in those areas these families and individuals will pay reduced rent to stay in these homes in exchange for their service. Over time we believe that these efforts will transform the neighborhoods we are working in by decreasing crime and increasing the quality of life in these areas. Please watch the video below that tells more of the story and simply respond to this email if you would like to get involved with this project in any way! Donna

My first encounter with Take the City was going to Wilson Apartments in Columbus GA. We were met by a man from that neighborhood who prayed with us before we began the outreach. We set up an area for the kids to play and others went door to door witnessing and praying for people. It truly was a humbling experience. Another time I got to pray at an abortion clinic which was another humbling experience. The worship services the night before are always dynamic and spirit led. However I will conclude with the best part for me was being an eight week participant of Take the City boot camp. All of the leaders were simply AWESOME and I learned so much during those eight weeks. I thank God for all these wonderful opportunities!
