What are the Covenants from the Old Testament?

November 30, 2020

Let’s explore some of the places in the bible where God makes a covenant with a person or a group of people. This bible study will primarily look at the old testament covenants. Main Points o   Covenants are a common theme throughout the whole Bible. o   A covenant is simply a way to define the terms of a relationship. It is an agreement from all parties. o   Typically, a covenant has some sort of initiation. Examples include meals, sacrifices, and ceremonies. o   From the very beginning God uses covenants, or promises, to interact with mankind. o   When God makes covenants or promises to His people, He always keeps them. o   Covenants tend to use “if/then” statements. God promises to bless His people, as long as they do as He has asked. Scriptures to Study  Genesis 9:1-17,  Genesis 17:1-8, Exodus 24:3-8, Deuteronomy 11, and 2Samuel 7:4-17 Do you have more questions about a New Covenant reality? United In Prayer

What is United in Prayer?
United in Prayer is an initiative of Take the City which unifies local believers for worship and intercession to prepare the way for lives to be transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

What does the Church need today?
“What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use — men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men — men of prayer.”

― E.M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer
