Prayer request from Redeem Outreach- Ashley!

May 18, 2017

The following information is a urgent prayer request that occurred on one of our Redeem sex trafficking outreaches. The names have been changed to protect the victims identity. Redeem exist to see the eradication of sex trafficking through intervention and cultural revolution. While on a recent outreach, we encountered a young lady who looked very battered and broken. As our team approached her, a man looked out of a hotel room, seeming to be frustrated and alarmed. (He saw our van and did not know what was going on) He asked “Is everything ok?”, we replied, “Yes” and continued to talk to the young lady. She told us her name and confided in us about her problems with being physically abused and would like prayers for that; she would not let on that she needed help but said she has friends who are active in prostitution and she can pass on the hotline card to them. So we encouraged her to call if she ever felt the need to get out of her situation. We were also able to pray with her and bring the hope of Jesus Christ into her life. We believe that her life is forever changed and will be transformed from this one encounter with Jesus. Please pray that Ashley will call the hotline and find the freedom and restoration! Thank you so much for your faithful support and prayers; we could not do it without you! Please check out takethecity.com/redeem and see more of what we do and how you can help. (The picture below is not an actual picture of Ashley but is very close to the...

What is Project: LifeHouse?

November 18, 2016

What is Project: LifeHouse? We are so excited to announce that God is taking one of our dreams and turning it into a reality. Over the last year we have dreamed of establishing missionary homes in areas we are working and we’ve recently been given a home to use for this very purpose! The name of this dream is Project: Lifehouse. Take the City is excited to be partnering with churches and businesses from all over the Chattahoochee Valley area to work towards transforming 10 neighborhoods in our area. The goal of “Project LifeHouse” is to fix up homes in impoverished areas and then place families and individuals in those areas to bring hope and transformation. We plan to do this through consistent service projects, outreaches and by sharing the love of Christ while living there. In exchange for doing weekly service projects and outreaches in those areas these families and individuals will pay reduced rent to stay in these homes in exchange for their service. Over time we believe that these efforts will transform the neighborhoods we are working in by decreasing crime and increasing the quality of life in these areas. Please watch the video below that tells more of the story and simply respond to this email if you would like to get involved with this project in any way! Harvest Night

Did you know every third Thursday of the month believers from all over the Valley area are gathering to worship Jesus and to pray over their communities together? One of our core values here at Take the City concerns unifying churches from all different denominations and cultural backgrounds. For us it is one of our greatest joys and privileges to use the prayer room, Harvest House of Prayer, for this very purpose.

We invite you to come join us and see what God is doing on these Harvest Nights! These nights of worship combined with our Saturday outreaches create a powerful equipping force in the lives of believers, as we learn what it means to worship, pray, evangelize, and make disciples who make disciples in our city and beyond. So come on out, get involved, meet like-minded believers, and let’s worship the Lord together!
