Local Company Donates to Project: Lifehouse

January 5, 2018

We are so excited to announce that at the end of 2017 the local company, Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Inc. made a large donation towards our Project: LifeHouse initiative. Our ministry is so thankful for local businesses who believe that it is important that we make a difference in our city. They made this $2,500 donation to help us finish our very first Project: LifeHouse home which is located in Bradley Circle which is a small part of the city-village area of Columbus, Ga. This month we plan to have completed our very first ministry home and we (The Chalmers Family) will be moving into this neighborhood. Our dream is to move families in who will help to sponsor and adopt communities that are in need of revitalization.  So far we have 4 of these homes that we plan to fix up before the end of this year and move people into these neighborhoods. Our dream is to have 10 of these Project: LifeHouse homes up and running by 2020. We believe that as people incarnate the Gospel of the Kingdom into neighborhoods that have been plighted with crime and poverty that we will see entire neighborhoods transformed. If you would like to get involved by volunteering, making a donation or even want to consider moving into one of these communities please contact us!  Andrew Chalmers Founder and Director, Take the...

What is Project: LifeHouse?

November 18, 2016

What is Project: LifeHouse? We are so excited to announce that God is taking one of our dreams and turning it into a reality. Over the last year we have dreamed of establishing missionary homes in areas we are working and we’ve recently been given a home to use for this very purpose! The name of this dream is Project: Lifehouse. Take the City is excited to be partnering with churches and businesses from all over the Chattahoochee Valley area to work towards transforming 10 neighborhoods in our area. The goal of “Project LifeHouse” is to fix up homes in impoverished areas and then place families and individuals in those areas to bring hope and transformation. We plan to do this through consistent service projects, outreaches and by sharing the love of Christ while living there. In exchange for doing weekly service projects and outreaches in those areas these families and individuals will pay reduced rent to stay in these homes in exchange for their service. Over time we believe that these efforts will transform the neighborhoods we are working in by decreasing crime and increasing the quality of life in these areas. Please watch the video below that tells more of the story and simply respond to this email if you would like to get involved with this project in any way!
