Friendship Baptist Church Community Outreach

November 26, 2019

We are thankful for our ministry partnership with Pastor Emmitt Aniton and the historic Friendship Baptist Church on 6th Ave in Downtown Columbus. We were blessed to join them for their annual Saturday community outreach in September. I’ve never felt more welcomed by any church family than Nancy and I experienced that Saturday. We were given a VIP tour of the building and enjoyed learning their story of faithfulness as a family of faith. Taking the church outside of our buildings is an excellent opportunity to  share with our communities that the Church is not our lovely buildings built to the glory of God, but we his children worshiping, praising, and sharing hospitality and love with our neighbors. (Jn. 13:35) The morning kicked off at 10am with a welcome, worship, and praise under a tent. A message of Gospel encouragement was responded to by several rededications and new professions of faith. Mayor Skipper brought greetings from our City Council and encouraged more of this type of community outreach in our community by all churches. An excellent lunch followed with burgers, dogs, and all the trimmings.  There was an amazing video gamers van that the young and young of heart enjoyed. Quite an amazing Saturday morning in downtown Columbus. Let us know if you have community outreaches at your churches that we can join in with you.  You and your church family are always welcome to join our Take the City Unity Night of Prayer at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Friday and outreach on the 3rd Saturday each month. Mark December 21-22 on your calendar and plan to join us at 2910 2nd...

Testimony “Being apart of Take the City has blessed my life”

March 29, 2016

This past weekend we had such powerful time of worship and intercession as Eddie James Ministries partnered with us to lift up the name of Jesus and declare His goodness in our city. On Saturday, we had over 26 different churches unified to stoke the fires of worship and intercession.  We also sent out over 160 people to over 10 different locations to love and bless the community with the good news. As a result we recorded 32 salvations, 8 healed, 124 people fed and 211 people prayed for. We believe that what God is doing in our city is only a small piece to the puzzle of His great plan of redemption all through out this world. We’re so grateful that we get to play a role in making a difference in peoples lives this city and in the nations. Here’s a testimony from Currey Mawer, who attend Take the City this past month: “Being apart of Take the City has really blessed my life. This past weekend I was apart of God’s work in the city of Columbus, GA. It was amazing to see the Holy Spirit move in the lives of the broken and lost. It only took my willingness to go out there and see it happen. It only took me lowering my needs for others. It only took living like my Christ Jesus that did has his Father lead him. In the simplest of prayers I witnessed breakthrough of the Kingdom of God in to the this earth. Through the love of the Father, the authority of Jesus name and the presence...

TAKE THE CITY outreaches have been so special to me. I love being able to see the hand of GOD move in peoples lives as they are healed and families restored. GOD cares about every detail of our lives and he reaches the places that only HE can only heal! Its been an honor to see all the teams go out and share the LOVE that GOD has instilled and filled the teams with, and let it pour out to all the community. Having physical needs met also assures all we encounter, the faithfulness of our Father. So many times I have cried seeing what GOD is doing… Being able to see people brought into the KINGDOM and freedom Spirit, Soul, Mind and Body. Is the greatest treasure in my life. I am grateful for TAKE THE CITY allowing me to have front seat and seeing GOD move in peoples lives!
