Why is Jesus called the Son of God?

November 30, 2020

Have you ever wondered why Jesus is called the Son of God in the bible? This is a brief bible study that will help you understand a little bit more about why he is called the Son of God. What does, “Son of God” mean and why is Jesus called that? In this video Bible study, we look at John 20 where Jesus is called the Son of God. In that chapter, it is made clear that everyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God will have life in His name. One of the scriptures that we look at is Psalm 2 where God is mentioned that God has a son. We also explore Matthew 3:17 where Jesus is baptized and God speaks from heaven and calls Jesus His “beloved Son”. The final scripture that we look at is in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Do you have more questions about who Jesus is? We also have some other resources to help you know more about Jesus. Check out this recent post we added to find out more! This is a post exploring another question about why Jesus was called the Son of David. United In Prayer

What is United in Prayer?
United in Prayer is an initiative of Take the City which unifies local believers for worship and intercession to prepare the way for lives to be transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

What does the Church need today?
“What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use — men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men — men of prayer.”
