November 30, 2020Let’s explore some of the places in the bible where God makes a covenant with a person or a group of people. This bible study will primarily look at the old testament covenants. Main Points o Covenants are a common theme throughout the whole Bible. o A covenant is simply a way to define the terms of a relationship. It is an agreement from all parties. o Typically, a covenant has some sort of initiation. Examples include meals, sacrifices, and ceremonies. o From the very beginning God uses covenants, or promises, to interact with mankind. o When God makes covenants or promises to His people, He always keeps them. o Covenants tend to use “if/then” statements. God promises to bless His people, as long as they do as He has asked.
