Redeem – A Family Met with the Love of Christ

June 23, 2021

Redeem - A Family Met with the Love of Christ In May, on one of the outreach nights, our Redeem team met a family of 6 living in a hotel. A young couple, who had lost their job, income and now a stable home, was forced to go from hotel to hotel with 4 young boys. Our team had the opportunity to dance and laugh with them and pray for and over the elementary and toddler aged boys. The oldest son expressed that he wanted to preach about Jesus, and we joyfully joined in prayer to declare this over his life. The young mom expressed that she wanted prayer for a house; she had been on several waiting lists for months. The eldest son yelled “Thank you Jesus” as we presented his mom and his siblings with roses that night for prayer. Their step-dad sat quietly on the steps, and later expressed his feelings of helplessness for his family. After this acknowledgement, we prayed again for him and his family and after several hugs, we parted ways. In June, during our outreach at another hotel we saw 4 boys playing outside. Our eyes lit up with joy. We heard “Thank you Jesus.” The young lady from the hotel in May had gotten a room for a few nights at this hotel, because it was safer for her boys. The family saw our volunteers, and the boys ran over to give our team a big hug. The family of 4 shared with us that since our last meeting, the boys had received all A’s and finished the school year strong in spite...

HARVEST HOUSE OF PRAYER- A YEAR IN REVIEW

May 26, 2021

HARVEST HOUSE OF PRAYER- A YEAR IN REVIEW Unexpected transition… It was about a year ago that the Lord moved my family and I from Orlando, Florida to Columbus, Georgia to serve at Take the City. Up until that time most of our ministry experience involved serving those recovering from life controlling issues. We never would have anticipated being placed in the leadership positions we are now in, my wife serving as the manager for Harvest Coffee, and myself coordinating the Harvest House of Prayer. Both of these ministries are within the context of the Take the City mission base here in Columbus.  A heart for prayer… Take the City is a very dynamic organization with all sorts of initiatives and projects aimed towards transforming cities with the gospel. At the center of it all, though, there is the prayer room. I have always had a heart for prayer and worship, and have always seen it as essential to any and all kingdom work. Even in my recovery and in the ministry therein I always found myself preaching on the subject of worship and prayer, and it has always been a priority and a core value in my walk with Christ. However, I never thought I would have the great honor of giving myself to this one thing for a living. The even greater honor is that God would count me worthy of empowering others to do the same. It is an unspeakable privilege. Stretched and surprised… It was also unspeakably uncomfortable at first if I’m being honest. I am a natural introvert and would much prefer to follow...

Toronto Take the City Equipping Conference

One of our greatest passions at Take the City is to help empower and equip people to be mobilized into their schools, workplaces and cities to share the gospel. Our ministry, which is based in Columbus, GA, travels from city to city working with churches from various denominations to encourage and send out believers to share their faith in their local context. Our mission is to see the Body of Christ unified and mobilized to see entire cities transformed and revitalized. We are excited to host this Take the City Equipping Conference in Toronto Canada this July 7-th-8th.

We offer a 6 session equipping weekend where we journey with people from various churches in discovering what a joy it is to represent Jesus in our everyday life! We often see many people who have never shared their faith become activated and excited about leading others to Christ.

This six session conference is designed to help everyone who is a follower of Jesus Christ learn how to more effectively represent Him in everyday life. This training is not designed just for the “spiritually elite” but rather for everyday people who long to be used by God at their schools, workplaces, homes and surrounding community. Basically, the primary goal of this training is to help de-mystify evangelism for believers who may feel scared of sharing their faith.
