November 30, 2020

Have you ever wondered why Jesus from the Bible is called Jesus Christ? In this short bible study, we look at some of the reasons why Jesus is called the Christ or the messiah.     In this session, we look at some of the reasons why Jesus is called the Christ or the Messiah. All through the accounts about Jesus in the gospels, we see him referred to as the Christ. In order to truly understand why this title is important, we must look at some prophecies from the Bible. What we discover when we look through the bible is that the people of Israel had long been waiting for a promised “Messiah” or “Christ”. When Jesus was called the Christ it meant that people were claiming that he was the one they had long been waiting for! “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah…” John 20:30-31 The word Messiah comes from a Hebrew word that means “anointed one”. Why is Jesus called the Son of God?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus is called the Son of God in the bible? This is a brief bible study that will help you understand a little bit more about why he is called the Son of God. What does, “Son of God” mean and why is Jesus called that? In this video Bible study, we look at John 20 where Jesus is called the Son of God. In that chapter, it is made clear that everyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God will have life in His name. One of the scriptures that we look at is Psalm 2 where God is mentioned that God has a son. We also explore Matthew 3:17 where Jesus is baptized and God speaks from heaven and calls Jesus His “beloved Son”. The final scripture that we look at is in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Do you have more questions about who Jesus is?
