During the Georgia School of Power and Love, we were sent out to pray and lay hands on the sick. Kazumi, Roxanne, and Mickey were on my team.  As we were praying together, I received five words of knowledge from God.  The first message came when we came across a couple down the street. While Roxanne was praying for them, I heard this from the Lord “kidney issues.”  After Roxanne prayed, I asked the couple if anyone had kidney issues. Turns out that one of them did. The gentleman was struggling and had been assigned to dialysis for quite some time. He allowed us to pray for him. As we did, we prayed that God would ease his pain and heal his body.

We met a woman sitting on a bench. Immediately after meeting her, I felt that she had been struggling with loneliness. So we prayed with her.

We saw another guy, whom I felt led to pray for. After meeting and sharing with him what we were doing, he allowed us to pray with him. As we were praying God showed me his back pain. After we prayed for healing in his back, he said his back felt much better. We all rejoiced together.

God gave me another word of knowledge but this time for leg pain.  Sure enough, we ran into someone who had leg pain. After sharing with him the word and confirming it, he allowed us to pray for him. As my friends and I prayed, the pain began to decrease.

We met another man, whom God highlighted for us to pray for.  As we prayed for him and his daughter, who had brain cancer, God showed me that this man had hip pain.  I paused to ask the man if he did, and he said “yes.” So we prayed for him and saw a dramatic difference.

 

Lastly, another man came up to us and asked us to pray for him. We discovered this man came up from Florida for the power and love conference to try and deepen his relationship with God. On the drive up to the conference, his tire blew out, and he used all the money he had just to get up here. He didn’t even have money for a hotel room! He just figured he would sleep in his car and then go to the conference each morning. Once he got to Columbus, God blessed him with a hotel room only four blocks from the venue.  His testimony of taking this leap of faith was so inspiring.

After chatting with him, we prayed for him.  That day we were able to provide a place for him to stay in Columbus one more night. -Stephen Megara

I’m amazed at how God will tell us specific details about someone to give us direction on how to pray for them. It’s interesting how praying for people will sometimes lead to opportunities for us to bless our neighbor.  Needless to say, It was a powerful time of outreach in the city of Columbus, Georgia.
