Washington D.C. Testimony!

Washington D.C. Testimony!

Washington D.C. Testimony!

This summer, we offered an internship program called Occupy for high school and college students. Occupy is a 6-week program that is geared toward helping students grow in their identity and intimacy with God by going deeper in the Word of God, prayer, and evangelism. We offer the opportunity for students to learn the backbones of ministry by working closely with Take the City staff in administration, social media, and videography.

While in the program, the students took a trip to Washington D.C. to pray for people on the streets, share the Gospel, and participate in an event called Together 2016. Here is a testimony from one of our students named Darius:

“One day during our trip in Washington D.C., we were on a scavenger hunt walking around the city looking for clues, which led us to meeting two ladies. After meeting them, we asked if we could pray for them, and they said “yes.” Shortly after, we left for the main event “Together 2016.” Surprisingly, we ran into the same two women from earlier.  One of them mentioned that her foot was hurting and she wanted us to pray for her. We prayed, and she was immediately healed.”
“Looking back at this trip, I would say, I had a wonderful time, and if I could go back again, I would. It was so fun! Now I know Jesus works in so many different ways.” – Darius Holt

“Getting to be a part of Take the City was such a blessing both in seeing how God moved in the lives of the people I met as well as how he moved in my heart. I was so encouraged to be surrounded by people willing to passionately pray for their city and the people in it. As we worshipped, people would stop and ask what was going on and we got to talk and pray with them. I felt a greater desire to pray for our nation grow in me as we sang and prayed together.”
