Here’s a short testimony about Melissa Chatman and her youth group’s experience at Revival on the River.
“We travelled from Albany to Columbus, which took us about an hour drive. Upon arriving we ate our free Chick-fil-a meals. After eating we told the kids they could roam around but not to leave past the gates. Well, of course being young, they ended up going past the gates. When I found them, they were way down the river walking on the path. And yes, they were in trouble. But we decided to give them a second chance (Isn’t that what we are supposed to do?).
Anyways they sat on the brick wall down toward the front of the amphitheater. In my mind I was thinking these kids aren’t paying any attention at all. They think it’s social time.
When it came time for the invitation, even then they didn’t seem to be paying attention. But something happened. All of a sudden I looked and I saw two of our boys down front. Then another followed. We all were ecstatic and began praising Jesus. That night, several gave their hearts to Jesus and one of our boys was baptized. We’ve never seen them get so excited for Jesus. It truly goes to show that the Holy Spirit can work in someone’s life even when they seem like they’re not paying attention.
This whole experience has changed our lives forever! We will never be the same. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you guys put into this event.”
